Panelist Dendritic Nanotechnologies. Dr. Tomalia launched his academic and entrepreneurial ventures after a 25-year management and senior scientist career with The Dow Chemical Company. During that time, he was credited with numerous commercial developments which included Citrucel® (now marketed by GlaxoSmithKline), cationic polymerization of 2-oxazolines and discovery of the fourth major class of macromolecular architecture; namely, “dendritic polymers.” He is the inventor and originator of the term “dendrimers,” and is listed on over 100 U.S. patents and more than 180 peer reviewed publications. Over 150 of these publications are focused on the dendrimer and dendritic polymer field, including a monograph entitled “Dendrimers and Other Dendritic Polymers.” Dr. Tomalia serves as the president and CTO of DNT while he remains active in the academic community as distinguished visiting professor (Columbia University), distinguished research scientist/professor (Central Michigan University), Co-Director of the “National Center for Dendrimer Based Nanotechnology” (Central Michigan University) and serves on the editorial advisory boards of Bioconjugate Chemistry and NanoLetters. Dendritic
NanoTechnologies Inc. (DNT) is the world’s leading developer and
provider of advanced dendritic polymers. DNT has breakthrough
technology that provides the vehicle — the targeting and delivery
mechanisms — for a vast array of diagnostics and therapeutics
currently in development in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical
industries.
